Katsina  approves major infrastructure, health projects

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has presided over the 6th Regular Executive Council Meeting, approving significant funds for crucial projects in health, infrastructure, and education sectors.

The council has approved over 1.6 billion naira for the construction and provision of equipment for the pharmaceutical manufacturing unit at General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital, Katsina. State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa announced that the contract, awarded to a reputable construction firm, has a completion period of six months. According to Saulawa, the unit will initially produce Vitamin B and C syrups and magnesium silicate, with plans to expand to tablet production in the second phase.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Radda, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, in a statement said

“In a significant infrastructure development, the state government has allocated over 36 billion Naira for the construction of a new road from Kadanya to Tsakatsa through Kunduru to Radda to Kuraye, with a spur to Majen-Wayya. Reacting to the approval, the Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transport, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa confirmed that this road project, covering Kankia and Charanci local governments, aims to connect rural communities and boost socio-economic development in the area.

“Similarly, the council approved funds for the construction of a perimeter fence at Dr. Yusuf Bala Usman College of Legal Studies, Daura. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the security of both students and staff at the institution.

“The Governor Radda administration’s dedication to advancing Katsina State’s development is evident in these latest approvals. Bolstering the quality of medical care, upgrading transportation links in rural regions, and reinforcing security measures at learning centers across the state”
