The people of Fakai Chiefdom have reaffirmed their support for the re-election of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, declaring that the Governor has earned their confidence through his commitment to the development and wellbeing of the people.
The Chief of Fakai, Alhaji Hudu Dan Mallam, made the declaration on Thursday, October 8, 2026, when Governor Idris paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Jarima Fakai, Hon. Musa Rabiu.
The Governor, who condoled with the family over the death of the prominent community leader and politician, described the deceased as a man of integrity, honesty and commitment whose contributions to Kebbi politics, the Zuru Emirate and the development of his community would remain indelible.

Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor quoted Gov Idris saying the death of the late Jarma Fakai was a great loss to the people of Fakai, the Zuru Emirate and Kebbi State, praying to Allah SWT to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
“The death of Jarma Fakai is a great loss to the people of Fakai, the Zuru Emirate and the entire Kebbi State. His contributions to Kebbi politics and the Zuru Emirate will never be forgotten.
“I pray Allah SWT to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and all those affected by his death the strength to bear the loss,” he said.
In his remarks, the Chief of Fakai, Alhaji Hudu Dan Mallam, thanked Governor Idris for his support to the family of the late Jarma and for his numerous interventions across Fakai Chiefdom.
He specifically commended the Governor for the renovation of his palace, provision of an official vehicle, renovation of the community hospital and provision of water facilities, among other development projects.
The traditional ruler assured Governor Idris of the continued support and loyalty of the people of Fakai, particularly as the Governor seeks a second term in office.
“We appreciate everything Your Excellency has done for the family of the late Jarma and the people of Fakai. We have no regret supporting you, and you should have no doubt about our commitment to your second-term bid.
“You renovated my palace, gave me a vehicle, renovated our hospital and provided water for our people, among other interventions. These are clear signs that your administration cares about the people of Fakai.
“You should not have any doubt about our support. We are for you, and you are for us,” he said.
Earlier, speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Alhaji Shehu Tourist expressed appreciation to Governor Idris for the support and solidarity extended to the family during the lifetime of the deceased and following his death.
He prayed Allah to continue to guide the Governor, grant him success in the discharge of his responsibilities and enable him to achieve his second-term ambition.
