The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has concluded accommodation contracts for Nigerian pilgrims in both Makkah and Madinah for the 2026 Hajj, marking a major milestone in its operational preparations.
This followed the deployment of a high-level NAHCON delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a strategic move aimed at fast-tracking critical logistics, ensuring regulatory compliance, and eliminating risks associated with late contracting.
While confirming the development, a source within the Commission said all accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims have now been finalised in line with Saudi Arabian timelines and standards, providing certainty and stability ahead of the Hajj exercise.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, had earlier authorised the executive-level intervention as part of the Commission’s early planning framework designed to guarantee a hitch-free Hajj operation.

The delegation was mandated to conclude pending contracts and secure suitable facilities for pilgrims in the two holy cities.
The accomplishment is seen by NAHCON as a reflection of its commitment to proactive planning, institutional coordination, and strict adherence to its statutory mandate as Nigeria’s Hajj regulator. The Commission added that the move aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises efficiency, accountability, and improved service delivery to citizens.
With accommodation secured in both Makkah and Madinah, NAHCON said it will continue to intensify engagement with relevant stakeholders and Saudi authorities as it progresses to subsequent phases of the Hajj preparation cycle.
