The 2026 Yauri Rigata Cultural Festival has been postponed to a later date .
The Kebbi State Government announced the postponement through Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Secretary to the State Government while addressing Journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking In his capacity as the National Chairman of Rigata Cultural Festival Organising Committee and Secretary to Kebbi State Government, Alh Yakubu Bala Tafida said the decision was informed by compelling organizational considerations.
“ The postponement is due to pressing organizational issues. We also wish to express our appreciation to the Kebbi State Government for providing the necessary funds towards the organization of the Rigata Cultural Festival,” he said.
Bala-Tafida recalled that the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival was scheduled to hold barely a week after the Rigata Festival, noting that it would be impractical to invite guests to attend two major cultural events within such a short period.
“These and many other considerations informed our decision to postpone the festival ,” the SSG said.
