Work has began to connect Kebbi Radio to dedicated power line to upgrade its capacity to discharge its mandate more efficiently.
This followed the approval given by the Governor Dr. Nasir Idris and marching orders to the Commissioner of Information and Culture Yakubu Ahmed BK to, within one week, ensure that the Kebbi Radio Corporation is fully linked to the dedicated line.
Since its creation, the premier Kebbi state radio had not been fully optimal due to its inability to operate for even two consecutive hours daily because of electricity shortage and prohibited cost of diesel to power its generators.
Following the approval and orders of the Governor, work began today by officials of KAEDCO to, in record time, ensure compliance.
Speaking about the process leading to the governor’s instructions, Yakubu Ahmed BK remarked that both the Kebbi Television and Kebbi Radio would be upgraded by whatever it takes to position them to operate fully and timely.
He showered praises on the Governor Dr. Nasir Idris for his positive disposition towards the two megaphones of the state. He noted that the support the Governor has always given to the Ministry of Information at all times had become critical in the improvements that are beginning to show in the outputs of the two stations.
He assured that as soon as the radio station is linked to the dedicated power line, maximum hours of broadcast will be achieved.
