The Narayi Bayan Dutse community in Chikun Local Government of Kaduna State has received the attention of Hon. Olakunle Oluwafemi a philanthropist and Labour Party chieftain vying for the seat of member representing Chikun/Kajuru constituency as he flagged off the rehabilitation of MAKARFI road.
Parts of MAKARFI road have been eaten up by gully erosion causing unnecessary gridlocks and accidents in the area. This worrisome situation prompted the philanthropist to take the bull by the horn to provide succour to residents of the community.
The project is in actualization of Oluwafemi’s vision of putting smiles on the faces of his constituents.
Chairman, Labour Party Narayi ward is of the view that, “when completed, the road from MAKARFI road Bayan Duste linking Sabon Tasha will significantly improve the social, economic, cultural, and political landscape of the area. “Direct and indirect jobs will be created during the rehabilitation period as well as enhance movement of people and services”. He added.
Other Labour party stalwarts in Narayi ward such as Gando Solomon and Paul Audu while commending Olakunle for prioritizing the welfare of the people say, the people of Narayi have no reason not to give their utmost support to the Philanthropist for de-emphasizing politics and focusing on development.
They applauded his transformational drive and sustained efforts at rebuilding trust in the constituency. “The giant strides by Olakunle is unprecedented which will go a long way in restoring the confidence reposed on the party. They encouraged other politicians and all notable Nigerians to learn from the Labour Party the need to prioritize the execution of projects, adding that the constituents are solidly behind the philanthropist”.
Earlier, Hon. Oluwafemi was at the palace of the district head of Narayi Sule Sarki where he beautify the chief’s palace through the provision of curtains, duchess chair and the repair and a rehabilitation of a borehole that was abandoned for over five years to provide access to potable and safe water for the community. The Chief and his council of elders who were short of words thanked the Donor, gave him their royal blessings and prayed for God’s guidance, protection and victory at the polls. He chief says, “this young man is another Ekene Abubakar Adams in the making. Ekene has gone to be with the Lord, but the same God has given us another Ekene”. Olakunle is not on the seat yet, but he is touching the lives of people talk less of if the mandate to serve is given to him”. He added.
Tamar Benjamin who was full of praise to the Philanthropist maintained that, “water is life, Olakunle has given us life. There’s nothing we cannot give back to him in return”. If it’s votes that he wants from us, then he already has it”. Another beneficiary of the borehole Blessing Favour says, the repair of the borehole will no doubt alleviate the sufferings of the direct beneficiaries. In her words, “What this man has done to us in this community cannot be quantified in monetary terms. “Every day we trek long distances to fetch or buy water because we have no functional borehole in our area”. She concluded.
