Katsina State Government has revealed that it will not constitute local government councils caretaker committees when their tenure expires in 2026.
Gov. Dikko Radda said this during the swearing in of Alhaji Kabir Abdulsalam-Shema, as the transition committee Chairman of Dutsin Ma Local Government Council.
The current local councils were elected in March 2023 for a three tenure
The governor further assured the general public that the local government elections would be held for new council once their tenure ends.
He added that the appointment of the transition chairman was prompted by the affirmation of the former chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Namadi, as the stateβs secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Congratulating the new transition chairman for the well deserved appointment, Radda urged him to remain committed to the discharge of the new task.
He, however, enjoined stakeholders in the area to support the new chairman with prayers and advice on how best to reposition the local government.
Radda observed that Dutsinma LGA was blessed with committed and trustworthy personalities, now in various positions of leadership.
βThey include the state head of civil service, Alhaji Usman Isiyaku, the commissioner for finance, Alhaji Bishir Tanimu Gambo and so many others,β he said.
