Miners in Katsina State have charged to avoid getting involved in illegal mining activities
Acting Chairman Board of Trustees of the Association Alhaji Mustapha Abdulmumin gave the charge at a meeting organised by the Association in Katsina, Sunday.
He explained that the warning became imperative considering the nature of their profession, calling on members to ensure the contributions of the Association by supporting all the positive policies and programmes of the three tiers of government across the nation.
He therefore pointed out that the time for electing new leaders of the Association has come considering the elapsing of tenure of the existing leaders.
Chairman of the Association Alhaji Ahmed Yurema claimed that the Association has nothing forthcoming, as according to him, for the past five years, insecurity contributed much in bedeviling the normal operations of the Association.
In his contribution, the NEITI Northwest Zonal Head, Alhaji Umar Farouk Abdullahi showcased some of their functions that would immensely support and assist the Association to thrive.
Crucial issues in connection with the problems and development of the Association were amicably resolved and discussed.
