The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) Kaduna state chapter has restated needs for Muslim Women to come out and exercise their franchise in the 2023 elections commencing on Saturday.
This was contained in a statement signed by Amira Aisha Isiyaku Tukur in Kaduna.
The association further urges women to do so with the fear of The Almighty Allah, while warning against any act that would jeopardize the free and fair processes during and after the election. It therefore refers to verse… : “invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors. And do not do mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope. Surely, Allah’s mercy is (ever) near to the good-doers.” Chapter 7 Verses:55-56 .
FOMWAN was Founded in 1985 as a faith-based, non-profit, non- partisan organization and an umbrella of Muslim women’s associations in Nigeria. The organization works on sensitization on elections, Education, Health, and Humanitarian services.
