Katsina: Party agents arrested not planning to hack INEC

Fifteen political party agents arrested  by Katsina state police command with 20 laptop computers allegedly with intent to hack into the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC servers to rig elections results were not planning to hack into INEC servers with intent to rig elections results as allegedly reported.

This is contained in a release signed and issued by SP Gambo Isah, ANIPR, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command.

The Command said it has carried out in-depth investigations with the assistance of independent computer expert and it was discovered that the political party in question was setting up a situation room, using a computer application software, for the purpose of collating elections results through their party agents,

The statement from the command assured the public that the Command is on top of the situation and in synergy with other sister agencies to put in place watertight security at all RACs, Polling Centers and Units.
