The list further names representatives for Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo and Osun states.

The unveiling comes a day after Dickson announced that the party’s National Campaign Council would coordinate the campaigns of all its candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Dickson had disclosed the plan after meeting Obi, Lawal and members of the party’s National Working Committee to discuss preparations for the forthcoming elections.

In a statement shared on X following his return from a working trip overseas, the former Bayelsa State governor said he had received Obi and held discussions with Lawal on the party’s readiness for the elections.

He said, “Following my return from a working trip overseas, I received our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, CON, who paid me a visit.

“I also received the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, His Excellency Engr. Babachir Lawal, a senior member and leader of our great party, the NDC. Together, we held very fruitful discussions on the state of the party, particularly our readiness for the 2027 general elections.”

Dickson explained that the party’s national chairman and members of the NWC subsequently briefed the leadership on preparations for the inauguration of the campaign council.

“The Chairman and the NWC briefed us on preparations for the official unveiling and inauguration of our National Campaign Council, scheduled for Monday,” he said.

“The discussions were very fruitful, and I am happy that all our party leaders and candidates are on the same page.”

He stressed that the council would coordinate the campaigns of all NDC candidates, rather than focus solely on Obi’s presidential ambition.

“Our unique campaign council will coordinate the campaigns of all our party’s candidates, from the presidential candidate to the National Assembly, governorships and state houses of assembly. It will be known as the NDC National Campaign Council,” Dickson stated.

He added, “This will be a campaign for the entire NDC, from top to bottom, with all candidates and party leaders actively involved and taking ownership of the process.”

Dickson also expressed confidence that the party would work together to take its message to voters across the country.

“I thank all Nigerians for their confidence and support. I assure them that our leaders are united and on the same page, and we will take the NDC message to every nook and cranny of Nigeria,” he said.

He added, “From next week, we will paint the whole country blue.”

The inauguration of the campaign council was initially scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, but the party postponed it to Monday, October 26, following a change in Obi’s schedule due to an overseas engagement.

In a statement announcing the change on October 19, Director said, “The NDC Leadership has announced a new date for the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council (NCC) earlier slated for Tuesday, 20th October, 2026. The event will now be held on Monday, 26th October, 2026.”

The party apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and urged its members and supporters to remain focused on the 2027 elections.

Obi is seeking the presidency on the NDC platform, with Kwankwaso as his running mate.
