Determined to ensure that all Local Government Areas in Kaduna State benefit from road infrastructure projects has the government of Kadun state has assured communities that it would reverse years of uneven development.

This was announced by Kaduna State Governor, Mal Ubale Sani while inaugurating the reconstructed 23-kilometre Madauchi–Kafanchan road through Madakiya, including the spur to Matsirga waterfalls, which links Jema’a and Zangon Kataf LGAs.
The governor said some parts of the state had been neglected for over a decade, noting that 12 LGAs did not receive a single completed road project during that period.
He said his administration has begun addressing the imbalance by deliberately extending development projects to underserved communities.
Sani recalled that he performed the groundbreaking for the road in July 2024, adding that the inauguration marked the fulfilment of that commitment.
“Since the inception of this administration, we have remained consistent in our commitment to rural transformation. Across Kaduna State, we initiated approximately 140 new road projects covering 1,335 kilometres,” he said.
“Sixty-six of these roads have already been completed, while the others are at various stages of execution. Each project has been selected to address long-standing connectivity gaps and unlock local economic potential.”
According to the governor, the newly inaugurated road serves as a critical link among several communities within the Bajju chiefdom, including Kankada, Madakiya, Rebok, Tsorian, Wadon, Adwan, Fadan Kaje-Gida, Matsirga and Fantswam, while also strengthening connectivity between Zangon Kataf and Jema’a LGAs.
He said the road provides an alternative route to the Zonkwa–Samaru–Kagoro axis and has reduced travel time between Kafanchan and Zonkwa by nearly half, easing movement for farmers, traders, students and other road users.
He said the project is particularly significant for farmers, as it passes through agriculturally productive rural communities, adding that improved access would help reduce post-harvest losses and strengthen agricultural value chains.
“Beyond its economic importance, this road tells a compelling story about equity, inclusion, and fairness in public investment,” he said.
“Zangon Kataf is among the twelve local government areas in Kaduna State that, for more than twelve years, did not benefit from a single kilometre of a completed road project.
“This prolonged neglect constrained economic activity, limited access to opportunities, and made daily life more difficult for our people. That reality was unacceptable.”
Gov Sani said his administration is committed to inclusivity and fairness, stressing that development under the government will not be influenced by geographical location, religion or ethnicity
