Katsina State Ministry for Local Government and Emirate Affairs has formally commenced the distribution of complete hospital equipments to Primary Healthcare Centres recently rehabilitated in each of the 34 Local Government Areas in the state.
This was part of the unwavering commitment of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda towards ensuring access to quality healthcare delivery at the grassroot level across the state.
The benefitting PHCs were in addition to the three Healthcare Facilities earlier rehabilitated/renovated by the state government through the Ministry which brings the total number of such PHCs to Five in each LGA across the state.
Beside the Hospital equipment, three staff quarters were constructed, boreholes, Solar Powered Light were also provided within the premises of each PHC and were fenced with barbed wire to enhance security..
To strengthen the services of such facilities, 170 Tricycle Ambulances were procured and being assembled for distribution to each of the five rehabilitated/renovated PHCs across the 34 LGAs.
The distribution of the equipments commenced on Saturday with Twelve Health Facilities across Six LGAs under Katsina Zonal Centres supervised by the LG Inspectorate Department of the MLGEA.
The Twelve PHCs that formally received the Hospital Equipment’s across the Six LGAs under Katsina Zonal Centres were PHC Dabaibayawa and PHC Yargamji in Batagarawa LGA, PHC Rafin Dadi and PHC Kangiwa in Katsina LGA, PHC Bugaje and PHC Gurbin Magarya in Jibia LGA.
Others were PHC Ba’awa and PHC Girka in Kaita LGA, PHC Abukur and PHC Iyatawa in Rimi LGA, with PHC Koda and PHC Ganuwa from Charanchi LGA.
The Ministry officially handed over the equipments to storekeepers of the respective LGAs where they in turn handed over the equipments to officers In-Charge of the respective PHCs.
While receiving the Equipment’s at 12 respective PHCs, officials of the Ministry, PHC Coordinator, representatives of LGA Chairmen and CDC, Councillor as well as Village Head witnessed the event.
During the distribution and handng over processes at PHCs Dabaibayawa and ‘Yargamji, the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana warned the officers In-Charge of the respective PHCs to ensure proper utilisation of the equipments, as according to him, they were not meant for storage hence the need to properly place every item in its rightful position.
In their separate remarks, the Village Heads of ‘Yargamji Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu and Dabaibayawa Alhaji Ibrahim Jamo expressed appreciation to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for the gesture and the MLGEA, as well as Department of LG Inspectorate for the facilitation.
Other officials from the MLGEA that led the distribution and handing over the equipments across Katsina Zonal Centres include the Permanent Secretary Alhaji Mas’udu Banye (Rimi LGA) and Director Admin & Supply Alhaji Bello Fago (Katsina LGA).

Others include Director Works, Engineer Umar Faroukh Abdullahi (Jibia LGA), Director Inspection Alhaji Wali (Charanchi LGA) and Director Budget Alhaji Babangida Aminu (Kaita LGA)
