Properties worth ₦213 billion belonging to former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami and his sons have beenFmr AGF, Abubakar Malami loses ₦213 billion properties seized through an order by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
“It is hereby ordered that an interim order of this honourable court is hereby made forfeiting to the Federal Government of Nigeria the properties described in Schedule 1 below which are reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities,” the judge ruled.
Valued at over ₦213 billion, the seized assets include luxury hotels, residential estates, shops, warehouses, and large parcels of land across Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and Kebbi. EFCC says the properties may be proceeds of unlawful activities.
High-profile assets include a luxury duplex in Maitama, Harmonia Hotels in Garki, Meethaq Hotels in Jabi, and prime commercial and residential properties in Abuja and beyond.
Malami, his wife, and son are on bail over an alleged N9 billion money laundering case, with trial set for February 17, 2026. EFCC has been directed to publish the interim forfeiture order in a national newspaper for claims within the 14-day window.
