The Speaker, Makarfi Local Government Council Hon Yushau Jibrin has announced plans to empower no fewer than 200 women with a total sum of N2million as part of efforts to promote economic self reliance and improve livelihoods across the local government.
Hon Yusha’u announced this at a press briefing held in Kaduna, saying the empowerment program is designed to support women entrepreneurs through financial assistance that will enable them expand their businesses and improve household incomes.
He noted that the program reflects the council’s commitment to inclusive development and women empowerment at the grassroots level.
Yushau Jibrin emphasized that woman play a critical role in the economic and social development of the local government, stressing that empowering them would translates into improved welfare for families and the communities at large.
The speaker said the beneficiaries where drawn from different wards of the local government and are expected to receive startup capital to expand their businesses.
He charge the beneficiaries to utilize the support judiciously for sustainable economic growth.
