Quranic Recition Competition: Kaduna contingents charged to brace up

Quranic reciters that would represent Kaduna State state at the national level have been advised to fasten their belts and work harder for the state to emerge the winner during the forthcoming national recitation competition.

The advice was given by the Kaduna state coordinator for the National Quranic recitation competition and chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area in Kaduna state, Sheikh Jamilu Albani.

He made the call during the closing ceremony and unveiling of winners of this year’s Kaduna State Quranic recitation competition in Kaduna.

Sheikh Jamilu Albani declared the results and winners of the annual competition explained that eight students from different Islamic schools in the state who participated and also emerged first runner up thirtith and sixtieth Hizibs comprising memorisation and recitation of full text of the holy Quran and some other categories would be representing the state at this years annual national recitation competition

.

Albani further revealed that Umar Bello Kofa from Zaria local government and Najibullah Yakubu from Kaduna South Local Government emerged overall winners of the memorisation and recitation of the full text of the Holy Quran from both the male and females sides respectively.

While Musa’b Abbas from Kaduna North Local Government and Hafsa Abdullahi from Kaduna South Local Government emerged first runner of the contest for the recitation and full interpretation of the meaning of the verses of the Quran along side four other reciters that emerged first runner up from both the males and females sides of the recitation competition in different categories.

The guest speaker at the occasion, Dr Abubakar Sani of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic studies admonishes winners of different category of the competition to be good ambassadors to the society and as embodiment of the teaching of the Holy Quran and foster a good relationship of respect and dignity for their parents and teachers at all times and a guiding light to achieve success here and the here after.

In his remarks the Kaduna State Standing Committee on Quranic recitation competition, Dr Muhammad Shehu Abdulkadir Salenken Zazzau commended the Kaduna State Government and individuals who provided support in different ways for organizing this years competition as it recorded more turnout of local governments that participants when compared with the ones hosted in previous years.
