In an effort to improve budgeting and budget implementaion at the local government level, against prepation of the 2026 financial year, an interactive session was held in Daura.
The Session which was organised by the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the office of the Director Budget on Thursaday was conducted at the Conference Hall of Daura Motel.
It was organised for Chairmen, Council Leaders, and Directors of Administration and Finance, Treasurers of the 34 LGAs as well as Directors of the MLGCA.

The Session was meant to rub-mind between the participants and the leadership of the MLGCA on the mode of raising and implementing 2026 budget estimate at the local government level.
Addressing the session, the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana spoke extensively on the Philosophy and Psychology of budget process and implementation.
He charged critical stakeholders in budget planning and implementation of local government budget to collectively ensure agility and enthusiasm in the planning of 2026 budget in their respective LGAs so as to come up with acceptable and authentic budget estimate ever produced.
A paper entitled ” Application of IPASAs National Chart of Account for Budgeting in Local Government Council.”was extremely presented by Dr. Salisu Ladan of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary MLGCA Alhaji Mas’udu Banye emphasised the importance of the interactive meeting and charged the participants to comply with what has been discussed.
In a vote of thanks, the State Chairman of ALGON who is also the Chairman of Danja Local Government Council Hon. Rabo Tambaya expressed appreciation and pledged that the local government councils will ensure compliance with the process and implementation.
Notable figures that witnessed the occasion include the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo and Local Government Auditor General Alhaji Shu’aibu Lawal among others.
