The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has signed two memoranda of understanding (MOU), with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and the China Geo-Engineering Corporation Overseas Construction (CGCOC) Group for the lighting up of the FCT using solar power and ensuring rural water supply.
While signing the documents with the two Chinese companies in Beijing on Saturday in China as part of his visit to the country with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Barr. Wike said the selected projects would be completed across the FCT in time for the celebration of Abuja at 50 in 2025.
The Minister stressed that the projects, which would further ensure the FCT’s development, were pushed for by Mr. President at the just concluded FOCAC summit as part of his agenda to bring hope back to residents of the FCT.
