The  home and farms of Senator Babangida Hussaini, who represents Kazaure Senatorial District in Jigawa state have been attacked by hoodlums under the guide of protesting against bad governance in Nigeria

The attacks, wielding dangerous weapons, invaded the residence of Senator Hussaini and his farms over the weekend in Kazaure and looted livestock and farm produce worth billions of naira.

Reports say the hoodlums, masquerading as protesters, attempted to burn down the senator’s residence in Kazaure before they were dispersed by security agents and volunteers.

Other groups launched twin attacks on his multi-purpose farm located at Ka’el Gada town near Kazaure and Takwasa Farm along Daura-Kazaure Road, where they carted away assorted livestock.

Sen Kazaure was reported saying “some of the cows and goats were purchased from abroad for breeding but we wake up to the unfortunate news of the coordinated attacks on me and my family and properties, and they looted everything.”

The Senator confirmed: “The hoodlums in their hundreds gained access to my farm at Gada despite efforts by security operatives to stop them. In the ensuing melee, they vandalised the farm, removed doors and windows, and carted away millions of naira worth of ostriches, animals and farm produce.”

Theis was despite the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed by the Jigawa State Government to curtail widespread violence, and looting that characterised the nationwide protest.

Some residents described the looting as a betrayal of trust by the hoodlums against the backdrop of Hussaini’s consistent support for his constituents.

Meanwhile, security operatives and volunteers have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects to recover stolen livestock.

The senator condemned the premeditated attack by the hoodlums, as he lamented that most of them were known faces.
