Police operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command have arrested one Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator involved in aiding bandits in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The commissioner of police in the FCT, Benneth Igweh, revealed Musa’s arrest during a press briefing in Abuja, following a coordinated operation by the anti-kidnap unit.
Media reports that Musa is accused of facilitating various forms of support for bandit groups, including supplying sex workers, nurses, and hard drugs on request. He also served as a financial courier, distributing over N20 million to the families of bandits. Musa confessed to these activities and identified himself as a chief informant and logistics supplier to bandit groups led by a commander known as Ardo, who is currently at large.
The bandits under Ardo’s command are reported to have over 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles.
In a related development, the police also arrested Ruqquaya Ibrahim, a 41-year-old housewife, for supplying food and other logistics to the bandits. Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse, Niger State, was apprehended at Gidan-Dogo forest en route to deliver supplies. She later led the police to the residence of a bandit leader, Shumau, where 14 rustled cows were recovered
