Kaduna City was the first modern city in Northern Nigeria as it was, and still a seat of power.
Before the coming of el- Rufa’i’s government in 2015 and especially during his second tenure, Kaduna City had modern paraphilia of a modern city even though previous governments made attempts to improve its condition.
But the coming of Nasir el- Rufa’i with his urban renewal agenda has transformed Kaduna City into a modern settlement with new modern infrastructure in roads, schools, healthcare institutions, business concerns through modern markets etc.
When Sen Uba Sani came to power in 2023, he promised that his government will focus on the development of the rural areas. This would be achieved through the improvement of road networks to connect various communities in the state, improved education delivery at various level through improved enrolment and retention and graduation of pupils and students, provision of quality teachers and education managers as well as adequate learning and teaching environment, furniture, instructional materials.
Gov Uba Sani also pledged to improve the security situation in the state through community participation and collaboration with relevant and critical stakeholders in security matters at the state and national levels.
Gov Uba has also promised to reduce the housing deficit in Kaduna State and has been working hard to enter into partnerships with local and international concerns to achieve this vision.
It was in this regard that the governor flagged off the construction of 15 major roads, totaling 327 kilometers.
The projects kicked off at the Dual Carriage Bridge linking College Road to Mashigi, extending down to the Eastern Bypass of Millennium City.
There is also the Nurus Siraj Unguwan Dosa New Extension Layout, which is about 3,400 hectares of land. This development plan includes amenities such as water, power, and sanitation.
It’s a comprehensive effort aimed at enhancing the lives of residents across eight districts, in three local government areas of Igabi, Kaduna North, and Chikun.
The projects will expand Kaduna City and seriously address the urban housing deficit and reduce the cost of living for many residents.
