The ongoing fight against all forms of crime and criminality in Katsina State, operatives of the Katsina State Police Command attached to Bakori divisional police headquarters, in collaboration with members of the vigilante led by the DPO, successfully identified and apprehended five suspects on December 19, 2023.
The arrested suspects include Sharhabilu Dahiru, m., aged 20; Abubakar Tukur, m., aged 25; Kasamanu Abdullahi, m., aged 20;
Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, aged 20 and Sulaiman Sanusi, m, aged 20 all of Kakumi village, Bakori LGA, in possession of an AK 47 rifle.

Katsina State Command said ” on interrogation, the suspects promptly confessed to having stolen the said firearm from the residence of one Jamilu Lawal, alias “Kifda,” of the same address.
“Due to the seriousness of the crime committed, Mr. Lawal was immediately invited for further investigation to shed more light on the circumstances leading to his possession of the prohibited firearm. All suspects are in custody as investigation proceeds.
“While urging the good people of the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious criminal activities they may observe, the Commissioner of Police reiterated the command’s commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties of the good people of the state and further praised their usual and continuous support for the command and other security agencies in the state.”
