Kogi PDP screens gubernatorial aspirants

Towards the build up to Kogi State governorship election scheduled for November, 2023, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has screened ten aspirants.

Among those sighted at the headquarters of the party in zone five Abuja were Yomi Awoniyi, Senator Dino Melaye, Barrister Muhammed Kabiru Usman, Idoko Kingsley Ilona, and Engineer Musa Wada.

One of the aspirants, Reuben Atabo, SAN, was quoted telling journalists that he was confidentl

in winning the party’s nomination ahead of the other candidates and stated his willingness to implement a new style of government in Kogi State in light of the current situation.

“Nothing is working in Kogi, is it the parentage payment?” asked Atabo. I’m prepared to improve the narrative surrounding Kogi state. The highways are poor. The lack of infrastructure, widespread poverty, and the government’s stated goal of ensuring public safety prevent it from doing so at the moment.

But Muhammed Kabiru Usman, a former national legal adviser for the party, Kogi people want the PDP to retake power, therefore “we are in the process of rescuing Kogi for the people.”

“We want a change; we are not content with the way things are going in Kogi State. The PDP seeks a change in government because of this. We need to unite our people as a single family because of the insecurity, poor infrastructure, and lack of cooperation between Kogi State’s major tribes. I also want to bring back the development of the state’s infrastructure.
