It was a celebration galore for the Kagara community in Daneji District, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir turbaned Na Babba Salisu Ahmed as their villagehead, Wednesday in his palace in Katsina.
The emir called on the new village head to discharge his duties with fairness, equity and fear of the Almighty Allah. He advised the village head to ensure peace and harmony and report any issues he finds difficult to handle to the DistrictHead.
Kagara is an ancient settlement spanning about 600 years. It was and is a settlement for Islamic scholarship and agricultural activities due to fertile arable land and energetic population in the area.
A lavished ceremony by the community in Kagara, after the turbaning, hundreds of relations and well wishes gathered, rejoiced and celebrated the event as well as paid homage to the newly turbaned villagehead at his palace.
The event was witnessed by the Danejin Katsina, the District Head of Mahuta, Alhaji Bello Abdulkadir ‘Yammama, who re-emphasised the message of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina that he should lead in justice, fairness and equity.
A traditional title holder in the Daneji District, Alhaji Bello Kagara, Sarkin Yakin Danejin Katsina expressed his gratitude to Allah for witnessing the epoch making event. He also showed appreciation to the community and its well wishers their support towards achieving the feat.
Alh Bello urged the community to continue living in peace with one another and work hard towards endeavours that will improve their lives.
In his remarks, the new villagehead, Alhaji Salisu Amadu was full of gratitude Allah for granting the opportunity mount his fathers throne, promising to do his best to improve the lives of the members of the community.
Alhaji Salisu thanked His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir, and the Danejin Katsins, Alh Bello Abdulkadir for considering him worthy for the appointment to lead his community, promising to uphold the institution in high regards.
There was a lot of royal drummings and fluite blowing while the gathering clapped and sang differnt songs.
