The former Edo State Governor and former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Adams Oshimhole ( Senator -elect) has sent impeachment fears  to the Edo State Governor Chief Godwin Obasake

Gov Obasake was voted under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP but was beaten silly during recent presidential and National Assembly elections by the duo of APC and Labour Party.

APC was able to win two senatorial seats while LP carted away one.

For the first time since 1999 the

Edo Central Senatorial District, was being won by the PDP but was won by Monday Okpebholo who scored 41,334 votes while the LP scored 32,574 and the PDP got 25,225, as announced by  Professor Ray Ozuolua.

For Edo North Senatorial District the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mr. Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s election.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Adesina declared Oshiomhole as the winner of the polls with 107,110 vote

In a move to stave his impeachment if his party, the PDP fails to win majority in the state House of Assembly, Governor Godwin Obaseki has embarked on vigorous campaigns to generate support from various segments of Edo voters.

On Friday the campaign took him to  Oredo Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state canvassing for support from women groups to win their hearts to save him from further political embarrassment in the March 11 election.

But the Governor hinged his quest for support to sustain reforms and policies to ensure women’s empowerment and welfare.

Obasake was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, who noted that a vote for the PDP in the House of Assembly elections will help sustain the developmental strides of the administration.

“The March 11, 2023 House of Assembly election is for Governor Godwin Obaseki to sustain efforts at developing the State and making life more meaningful and better for Edo people, ” the governors representative was quoted saying.

He urged the people to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that “Plans are ongoing by the APC to rig their way through on March 11 so as to impeach the governor and stop his developmental programmes which have benefited the people of Edo State. Adams Oshiomhole and his party are planning to disrupt all the good works the governor is doing in Edo State,

“We will stop him and his plans to disturb the governor and his developmental strides in Edo State. We are appealing to the people to vote for PDP and stop the enemy of the Edo people from halting our progress as a people.  All our votes must be one way. It must be PDP all the way.”

Director General Edo State PDP Campaign Council, Chief Osaro Idah, who commended the women for their support for the Obaseki-led state government, noted, “We appeal to PDP women in Oredo and the State to support Obaseki and ensure PDP candidates win the election come Saturday 11th March 2023. Please, let us mobilize for PDP candidates in the election and ensure they secure victory in the House of Assembly elections.”

Woman Leader in Oredo LGA, Hon. Meg Aigbokhae said, “We have 12 wards in Oredo and 619 units and all the women in these units are present here today. The election is critical and our party needs to be victorious as the party needs its members in the House of Assembly to be able to support the governor to continue with his developmental strides in the State.”
