The national assembly election conducted on Saturday across Nigeria has dealt a deadly blow on some politicians, especially some sitting governors lost their bid to the senate.
At the moment four governors have made the list of those who will not enter the chambers of the National Assebly after their tenures as governors. These are
Governor Samuel Ortoo
Governor, Samuel Ortom was unable to win his election after polling 106,882 votes, while his former aide, Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress who garnered 143,151 votes was declared winner.

Governor Ben Ayade
The Cross River state governor, Ben Ayade was defeated by senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, the incumbent Lawmaker representing northern senatorial district of the state. While the Cross River state governor was reported to have polled 56,595 votes, Jarigbe garnered 76,145 votes to be declared winner of the election.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi
Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State also lost his senatorial election to labour party candidate, Okey Ezea. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was contesting the Enugu North senatorial district election, polled just 46, 948 votes whereas the Labour Party candidate, garnered 104, 492 votes.
Governor Darius Ishaku
Governir Darius Ishaku of Taraba state contested Taraba south senatorial district but was floored by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Jimkuta who polled 84,415 votes to defeat Ishaku who garnered 45,708 votes.
Governor Atiku Bagudu
Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State contested the Kebbi Senatorial District under his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC but was defaeted by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Senator Adamu Aleiro, former governor of the state
Announcing the result in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, the Returning Officer Professor Abbas Yusuf Bazata declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Adamu Aliero winner having scored 126,588 votes against Governor Bagudu, the Chairman All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum, who scored 92,389 votes.
