The Katsina State All Progressives Congress, APC Gubernatorial Campaigns for 2023 elections will resume tomorrow, Monday after a break following the tour of eleven local government areas in Katsina Central Senatorial Zone.
The tour now moves to Funtua Zone which comprises eleven local government areas of Matazu, Musawa, Malumfashi, Kafur, Kankara, Faskari, Dandume, Sabuwa, Bakari, Danja and Kafur.
The tour is the third keg of the campaign which started with Daura Zone. The zonal rally will begin from Funtua, headquaters of Funtua Local Government and terminates in Malumfashi Local Government on January 26.
Part of the campaign strategy is visit to every electoral ward in all the local governments to solicit for more support and understanding of the various communities through mutual interaction and understanding of the best way forward.
Funtua zone is home to Hon. Farouk Lawal Jobe, the running mate to Dr Dikko Umar. Its also home to the incumbent governor of the state, Rt Hon. Aminu Bello Masari. Gov Masari is from Kafur Local Government and is the top ranking politician from the zone. He has been on the political terrain for over 30 years and held the position of a commissioner, member and Speaker of House of Representatives and national party leadership.
The political experience of Governor Masari is expected to bear on generating more support for the Dikko/Jobe ticket and the APC in Katsina State.
Recall that the gubernatorial campaign tour received massive support from Daura and Katsina Central zones.
Political observers, analysts and commentators believe that the Funtua Zonal tour is an opportunity for Gov Masari to showcase his political dexterity and improve his rating in the political and election field.
There are reports that all the local governments have made arrangements to receive the gubernatorial campaign team, each trying to see how it could outshine the others.
