Katsina: All is set for the turbanning of Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), as the new Sardaunan Katsina by His Royal Highness the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman. on Saturday, 31st December, 2022.
The event was kicked off with a golf tournament on 28th December, 2022, at the Katsina Golf Club in honour of the new Sardaunan Katsina, Ambassador Abubakar.

Thirty-six professional players within and outside the country were expected to participate in the Golf tournament, and they are to compete in five categories for 20 prizes that include Best Gross, Best Net as well as runners up.
A two-day conference tagged; “Traditional and Modernity: Issues in the history of Katsina” was also planned by the Permanent Representative of Nigeria at the United Nations, Professor Tijjani Bande on the 29th to 30th December at the Katsina Motel
