In his bid to secure victory at the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is traversing nooks and crannies of Nigeria and visiting who he believes would add value to his aspirations
Part of the strategic locations that Asiwaju needs to penetrate is the Niger Delta area and especially the agitators for emancipation of the Niger Delta who seem to be in control if the creeks.
It was in this regard that Asiwaju was reported to have met the former Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo in Oporoza, the Gbaramatu Kingdom’s ancestral capital, after his recent visit to Delta State, where he spoke to supporters in Warri.
During the visit and discussions with traditional leaders and other stakeholders. the Iyelawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom title was bestowed upon Tinubu by His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, sources said
On Asiwaju’s entourage during the visit were APC spokeman Festus Keyamo, Chief Timipre Sylva, his counterpart in the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Deputy-Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
