Governor Nyesom Wike has lost one of his allies Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, former governor of Gombe Stateas he (Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo), has declared support for the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo is a known  political ally and strong supporter of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, when contested and lost the PDP presidential ticket to Alh.Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa.

To key into the Atiku campaign effectively Alh Hassan Dankwambo donated 20 buses to Atiku’s campaign. He announced the donation when Atiku visited Gombe for the PDP presidential campaign rally in the state.

The donation of the vehicles, many say, is evidence that Dankwambo has bought into the Atiku project.

While speaking at the Gombe Township Stadium, venue of the PDP presidential campaign, Dankwambo pledged to support Atiku to win the presidential election in 2023.

Gombe State is in the North East geopolitical zone which Atiku holds very dear since the return of democracy in 1999.

Recall that the South South governors under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, decided to back the Vice Presidential Candidature Gov Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State. The decision was taken when the governors converged in Yenegoa, the Bayelsa State capital to commiserate with the people and government over the flood disasters in the state.
