The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Bauchi State Abdulrazaq Nuhu Zaki, on Friday disclosed that 69 people that were abducted by bandits had been rescued by a combined effort of security agents and vigilantes.
He made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen on the infiltration of bandits, kidnappers into Toro, Alkaleri, Tafawa Balewa, and Ningi local government areas of the state.
“The governor equally boosted the morals of the council chairmen, vigilantes, traditional rulers, security personnel and all stakeholders. With the backing of the state government, we mobilised ourselves along with the security, vigilantes and stormed the forest, fearlessly and we confronted the bandits and they fled but our men continued to advance towards them.
