The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that it struck a US aircraft carrier resulting into the carrier’s move to 1,400 km away from the Persian Gulf, Times of India (TOI) reported Wednesday October 21, 2026,
IRGC spokesman Hassin Mohebi made the claim while also alleging disputes among crew members forced the carrier to dock off Thailand.
He further claimed that the USS Gerald F. Ford suffered a fire in its laundry room. The US military has not commented on these allegations and the claims remain unverified.
Meanwhile, Washington is preparing to reinforce its military presence in the Middle East as tensions with Iran continue to rise.
Some media reports say the United States is deploying the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the region.
The deployment expected to arrive by the end of November will bring thousands of additional personnel with reports indicating around 10,000 troops could move into the region.
The buildup comes as President Donald Trump weighs the possibility of renewed strikes against Iran, raising fresh questions about the risk of another military confrontation.
