The state branch of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) under the leadership of Comrade Zaki Sarki who confirmed the governor’s approval for the primary teachers consequential adjustment and the restoration of headmaster allowances abandoned decades ago by successive governments in the state described the approval as promise kept.
Zaki noted that Idris has proved to the people of Kebbi State and Nigeria that he was once a teacher and runs a teacher-friendly government; saying teachers are now feeling the positive impact of the Kauran Gwandu-led government.
Highlighting some noticeable achievements of the governor in education, he said aside the latest salary structure, the governor had constructed over 200 schools and renovated several others across the state.
In the area of manpower development the NUT chief said two thousand teachers were recruited, another one thousand five hundred secondary schools teachers were also employed.
Five hundred science teachers were recruited and as well absorbed over three hundred volunteer teachers into main civil service .
SK stressed that Kebbi state government maintains regular capacity building training for teachers in the state to boost their knowledge.
” We commend the governor for his invaluable contribution to teaching profession in Kebbi state,no doubt this latest development would encourage teachers to put in their best.”.
NUT admonished teachers across the state to compliment the efforts of the governor by rededicating themselves to their duties.
