Iran has identified several strategic locations that could be affected if tensions intensify. The targets include the Bab al-Mandab Strait, Saudi Aramco facilities, Yanbu Port, and Fujairah Port.
This was according to a report by Anadolu Agency on Sunday, April 19, 2026, Iranian media outlet Tasnim, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as Iran prepares for the possibility of renewed military confrontation.
The agency further claims that Iranian monitoring systems have observed increased United States military activity in the region. This reportedly includes naval movements, logistical air bridges for equipment transfers, and exercises described as involving preparations for potential island seizure operations in Bahrain.
Tasnim stated that Iranian assessments are currently considering two primary scenarios: one in which US deployments are intended as psychological pressure to influence ongoing negotiations, and another suggesting preparation for a possible surprise military strike targeting Iranian-controlled islands.
The report also asserts that Iranian officials believe the probability of direct conflict is higher than continued diplomatic engagement. It further claims that preparations have been made to respond decisively in the event of escalation, using the phrase “hours of hell” to describe potential retaliatory action.

The developments come amid heightened regional tensions and increased military activity across the Gulf and surrounding waterways. No independent confirmation has been provided for the operational claims contained in the report, and authorities in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have not publicly responded to the specific allegations.
Iranian state institutions have also not issued additional official clarification beyond the published report. Diplomatic observers note that the situation remains highly sensitive, with security conditions across key maritime routes continuing to draw international attention as monitoring efforts persist across the region
