President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the upgrade of Funtua General Hospital to a l Teaching Hospital and has appointed a Chief Medical Director for the new facility.
This was revealed by Governor Dikko Umar Radda in Funtua addressing stakeholders during his tour of Funtua Senatorial Zone of Katsina State as part of his ongoing tour of the 34 LGAs in the state.
The Governor also visited the Funtua Mobile Police Force Squadron, where Senator Muntari Mohammed Dandutse donated 10 motorcycles and 3 Hilux vehicles to strengthen security operations, alongside ongoing culvert and drainage works within the squadron premises. The Governor acknowledged and appreciated the Senator’s gesture.
Governor Radda further praised the unity among Funtua’s religious, community, and political leaders, noting that such cooperation is essential for sustainable development.
The stakeholders expressed deep appreciation for the visit and commended the Governor’s commitment to inclusive and people-centered governance.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, several community leaders thanked Governor Radda for the developmental projects recorded in Funtua, particularly in agriculture, education, social welfare, infrastructure, and human capital development.
They noted that the people of Funtua value his dedication and will not forget the positive impact of his policies.
The stakeholders—comprising Imams, business leaders, traditional rulers, party executives, and other notable personalities—also commended the establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology in the area, describing it as a transformative milestone for the entire zone.
“I do not have enough words to fully express my gratitude to the people of Funtua. Whatever we are able to achieve in Katsina State is not by our strength, but by the will of Allah and the prayers of the good citizens of our state.”
