FUDMA VC seeks prayers

The  Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina, Prof. Mohammed Khalid-Othman, has sought for prayers to succeed in taking the university to a higher level acknowledging that leadership challenges exist.

 Prof. Mohammed Khalid-Othman made the comment during a grand-reception held in his honour on Saturday in Bindawa, his hometown saying his tenure require prayers and divine guidance.

The reception was organised on behalf of the people of Bindawa, by Alhaji Badaru Musa, the local government Chairman.

The vice chancellor further expressed gratitude for the support of his community, friends, colleagues, family members, FUDMA community and other well-wishers.

He emphasised that while many expect rapid transformation at the university, he would do his best within his capacity to move the university forward.

NAN reports the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the university, Mr Ali Abubakar-Jatau, announced the appointment of Khalid-Othman as a substantive V-C.

According to the Pro-Chancellor, the appointment followed the approval of the council/senate, after its 36th Special Meeting recently held in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.

Earlier, the Bindawa Council Chairman, while congratulating the V-C, said the appointment was not only a personal achievement, but also a source of immense pride to the people.

“Your hard work, dedication, and outstanding contributions to the development of education and humanity have not gone unnoticed.

“We particularly thank you for the continuous support and opportunities you have extended to the people of Bindawa and the state, through mentorship, empowerment and your commitment to community development.

“Your humility and service-minded leadership remain an inspiration to many. I pray that Almighty Allah grants you wisdom, strength and success in discharging your duties.”

Also speaking, retired Col. Abdulmuminu Aminu, former Military Governor of Borno State, urged the community not to distract the V-C with personal requests but to support him in his duties.

In their remarks, the District Heads of Mani and Bindawa, Alhaji Babani Isah and Alhaji Muhammad Bello-Usman, encouraged the Vice Chancellor to work toward advancing the university to greater heights
