Sen LA splashes N75 million to Christians

Senator Lawal Adamu Usman representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone has doled out N75 million to Christians to celebrate Christmas.

The funds were donated to various christian denominations under the auspices of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in seven local government areas of Chikun, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Kajuru and Igabi that comprises of his constituency.

During the modest event Tuesday, Senator Mr LA,  in a short remarks reiterated his resolve to provide good and qualitative representation to his constituency, devoid of discrimination or demonstration of sectarian sentiments.

He said the gesture was aimed at assisting his brothers and sisters in Christ, to celebrate Chrismas happily in consideration of prevailing hardships the citizens are facing across the country, while beneficiaries are drawn from all christians groups and associations.

“This is part of our duty to offer assistances to our constituents during festive times,” he said

Sen. Mr LA then charged all Muslims and christians to shun all sentiments, embrace one another and see themselves as united and one people towards achieving decent living standards and good life in the country.

He said, the era of religious divide and rancour is over because the two faiths – Islam and Christianity have proximity to each other, while having similar traits and historical narratives but with a slight variations.

The lawmaker then charged both faithfuls to shun all tendencies of division and work together to actualise our enormous sociocultural, political and economic values that makes us unique as a people and a nation.

Those in attendance at the low-key event were PDP Zonal Secretary, Hon. Hussaini Garkuwa; State Secretary, Hon. Sa’idu Adamu, State PDP PRO Maria Dogo; Former Secretary Ibrahim Wusono, among others.
