Kebbi State Command of the Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has organised a 2-Day sensization and awareness workshop for it personnel against job racketeering and financial fraud.
The workshop which held at NSCDC conference hall of the state Command in Birnin Kebbi was attended by officials of the ICPC, EFCC and NOA where issues regarding the Job registering and financial fraud were discussed and taken into considerations.
In his opening remarks, Kebbi State NSCDC Commandant, Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa had welcomed all the participants on behalf of the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi which according to him, the workshop is organised at the instance of the CG’s efforts to revamp, rejig, rejuvenate, resuscitate and reposition the Corps nationwide to the modern elite security outfit in line with international best practices.
Alkamawa added that the aim of the workshop is to get good riddance of any sharp practices in the Corps, and restore confidence in general.
He noted that over the years, some unscrupulous elements hide under the banner of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies to perpetrate these sharp practices ie, Job Recketering and financial fraud particularly to job seekers.
He warned that whoever caught frowns on these illegal act under the stewardship of the present Commandant General of the Corps will be decively dealt with in line with the extant of laws .
In their separate contributions, representative of ICPC, EFCC heads of the North West zone and the state director NOA, Birnin Kebbi Nasiru Karofi has attributed the menace by the insiders
They called on the paramilitary heads of NSCDC, NIS, NCS , Police and other non military offices to shine their eyes during recruitment exercises .
