In its determination to generate more revenue and creating employment opportunities for the local communities. Katsina State Government has signed a multi-billion-naira mineral exploration contract with Geoscan, a renowned German geo-exploration company, to conduct detailed mineral resource investigation in the State.
Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor made this stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina on Thursday.
The State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, represented by the Alhaji Umaru Abbas Dangi, Chairman of the Katsina State Mining and Exploration Company (KEMCO) and Bello Isah Doro, the Managing Director of KEMCO, signed the contract with the company representatives of Geoscan in Berlin, Germany.
The statement added Geoscan’s proven track record, including previous collaborations with Esoterra Investment Group for lithium and critical mineral exploration in Nigeria, attest to the project’s credibility and potential for success.
“Geoscan expertise in sustainable exploration methods which have zero environmental impact and carbon footprint will also be invaluable for this project,” Dangi added.
The Katsina State Mining and Exploration Company (KEMCO) and the technical experts from Geoscan, however, praised Governor Radda decision to champion the cause of development towards sustainability and growth in the mining industry
