Parts of Kano metropolis were flooded with posters bearing President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
The poster strategically mounted on major streets within the urban areas of the commercial city has since drawn attention to the recent vandalisation of Tinubu’s campaign banners during Bayero’s horse ride.
The development has stirred fresh political curiosity in the state, against the backdrop of an unholy alliance between the political authority and traditional institutions.
Tinubu’s campaign banners were reportedly vandalised during Bayero’s recent horse ride, and following outcry, Bayero’s senior Counselor, Aminu Baba Dan’agundi, pledged on behalf of the emir to replace the damaged billboards.
The subsequent appearance of posters that brought the three personalities into the same visual narratives has raised questions and set tongues wagging.
But it remains unclear whether the posters were displayed in response to the banner vandalism, as a show of support for the personalities featured, or as part of an independent publicity campaign.
Consequently, the circumstances behind the displays and the identities of those responsible remain unclear.
