Over 7,000 girls trained, graduated and empowered in Katsina

.Over 7,000 girls have been trained, graduated and empowered, including 4,555 from 2023-2026, 1,000 in 2025 and 1,500 in 2026 in Katsina State.

This was disclosed by Governor Sikkim Umaru Radda while celebrating the International Girl Child Day, restates commitment to Girls’ Empowerment

“To keep girls in school, the administration distributed 1,000 back-to-school kits in 2026 to out-of-school girls and those at risk of dropping out, while 1,393 children were reached through the UNICEF-supported REACH programme and back-to-school campaign,” Governor Radda added.

In a statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed,

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State on October 11, 2026 saying the Government also established safe spaces and mentorship programmes in four Local Government Areas, reaching 6,120 children, including 200 girls, to provide guidance, protection and psychosocial support.

In line with its inclusive policy, the Governor maintained that the administration supported 100 Persons with Disabilities with mobility aids in 2026 to ensure no one is left behind.

Governor Radda reiterated that his administration will continue to expand opportunities for girls through education, skills development, and protection initiatives.

Governor Radda said the girl child remains central to the Building Your Future Agenda, noting that investing in girls is investing in the future of Katsina State.
