The Association of People of Dayi residents in Katsina has held a stakeholders meeting seeking ways and means of contributing towards the development of the host community.
In a welcome address, the chairman of the Association, Retired DCGN Hamza Umar Dayi told the people in attendance that the meeting was convened to deliberate on the political development of Dayi community.
Alhaji Hamza Umar recalled that there was never a time when it had a person representing the community in the state house of assembly.
Now that the candidate for the ruling party for the assembly is from Dayi to represent Malumfashi constituency, Alhaji Hamza Umar asked Dayi people resident in Katsina to mobilize for his success during the 2027 elections.
Also speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad Tukur reminded the participants that the closest that Dayi came was when late Usman Na’alma who hails from the neighborhood of Dayi was the member representing Malumfashi constituency in the state house of assembly.
Since then, Alhaji Hassan Dayi said all effort to clinch that membership seat could not be secured by politicians from Dayi.
He therefore called for the people of Dayi residents in Katsina to mobilize for the success of the candidature of the incumbent vice chairman of Malumfashi local government, Alhaji Muntari Adamu Dayi who is vying for the state house of assembly position.
Addressing the gathering, the former chairman of Malumfashi local government Alhaji Maharazu Adamu Dayi showered encomiums on Retired DCGN Hamza Umar Dayi for organizing the meeting to support the candidature of Alhaji Muntari Adamu Dayi for him to succeed in becoming the member of the state house of assembly by 2027.
Alhaji Maharazu Adamu Dayi emphasized that the support should be extended to cover mobilizing people from all nooks and crannies of the local government for the successful election of the candidate for the office.

Alhaji Muntari Adamu Dayi also expressed gratitude to people of Dayi residents in Katsina for the show of solidarity with him.
Others who spoke at the meeting include Sagir Hassan Dayi, Mutawakkil Hussain Dayi, Adamu Sha’aibu Gidanja Dayi, Aminu Abdullahi Dayi and others to mention.
