Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has said his administration will seek re-election in 2027 based on its achievements rather than fresh promises.
Gov Radda stated this during the inauguration of the APC Zalla Movement coordinators across the 34 local government areas and 361 wards of the state at People’s Square, Katsina.
The governor said the people would be presented with the projects and programmes executed by his administration as evidence of its performance.
“Today, the people are no longer looking only at promises. In the next election, we will show the people what we have done not make new promises,” he said.
Radda said his administration had executed projects and interventions across all 361 constituencies, adding that no constituency had been left without government presence. He urged the newly inaugurated Zalla Movement coordinators to work with existing APC structures and take information about government programmes directly to communities.
The governor also announced that vehicles would be provided to the movement’s three zonal structures to support grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation.
This is amid increasing political engagements ahead of the 2027 elections with stakeholders from different parts of the state expressing support for his administration.
Stakeholders from Ingawa Local Government recently visited the governor to appreciate his administration’s interventions, including infrastructure, political appointments, youth empowerment, healthcare and water projects. Radda assured the Ingawa stakeholders of continued government support while promising to consider their requests for additional roads, youth empowerment and irrigation infrastructure.
He also pledged support for the Automobile Dealers and Mechanics Association of Nigeria AMDON, including consideration of its request for a dedicated motor village in Katsina. According to the governor, the proposed motor village would create jobs, attract investment, boost automobile related businesses and increase government revenue.
Radda also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through grants, interest free loans, mentoring, technical assistance and other interventions implemented through KASEDA. He urged entrepreneurs to embrace value addition, improved packaging, branding and access to wider markets, stressing that government support must be used productively and repaid where applicable.
The Director General of KASEDA Dr. Babangida Kabir Ruma said about 20,000 beneficiaries of government enterprise interventions had formed the MSME Coalition for Dikko Radda 2027 and pledged support for the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Former Minister of Housing and Urban Development Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Katsina APC Chairman Bishir Gambo Saulawa urged APC members and the newly inaugurated coordinators to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures as the state prepares for the 2027 elections.
