KATSINA: Another prominent businessman abducted, killed after collecting 500 million ransom

Barely two days after the reported death of retired Army General Abubakar Rabe, who was kidnapped and killed by bandits prominent Katsina businessman  was abducted and killed despite payment of N500 Million Ransom.

 Alhaji Bala Sanin Kawo, a prominent businessman, farmer, and philanthropist from Dandume Local Government Area was widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential businessmen in Northern Nigeria. Known for his contributions to agriculture, community development, and humanitarian causes, he earned the respect and admiration of many across the region.

Reports said he was abducted by suspected bandits who later demanded a ransom for his release. Despite the payment of more than N500 million by his family and associates, the kidnappers allegedly killed him.

His death has sparked fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in parts of Northern Nigeria, where kidnapping for ransom continues to pose a major threat to lives and livelihoods.

Residents and stakeholders have continued to call on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to tackle the growing menace of banditry and kidnapping across the country.
