Katsina Dep Gov, Farouk Jone offers monthly intervention to rural schools

In a significant move aimed at strengthening basic education in rural communities, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, H Faruk Lawal Jobe, has approved a monthly intervention fund to support teaching and learning activities in selected primary schools across Kankara Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

The initiative is designed to address the shortage of teachers in remote and underserved schools by facilitating the engagement of additional qualified teachers and improving educational service delivery.

According to the Education Secretary of Kankara LGEA, Dr. Ibrahim Sani, twenty primary schools located in hard-to-reach communities have been selected to benefit from the intervention programme.
 Under the arrangement, 40 teachers holding the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) qualification will be recruited to complement the efforts of existing teaching staff in the beneficiary schools.
Dr. Sani further disclosed that the Deputy Governor will personally provide monthly allowances for the recruited teachers, demonstrating his commitment to improving access to quality education in rural areas of the state.
Some of the schools selected for the intervention include Kaurawa Primary School, Kabuke Primary School, Bare-Bari Primary School, Nagamda Primary School, and Jeka-Aredab Primary School, among others.
The intervention is expected to enhance classroom instruction, improve pupils’ academic performance, and bridge the gap in teacher availability across rural schools in Kankara Local Government Area.
Education stakeholders have described the initiative as a timely and commendable effort that will significantly contribute to the advancement of basic education and the overall development of rural communities in Katsina State.
