KTSG partners NDE on skills development

The Government of Katsina State has instructed that all requests from the National Directorate for Employment, NDE be treated with appropriate attention and priority

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda face the directives when he received a delegation from the  NDE led by its Acting Director-General, Mr. Edmund C. Onwuliri, in a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening partnership between the state and the federal agency.

Addressing the delegation at the State Government House Governor Radda expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the team dedication to youth development. He recognized the importance of skills acquisition in creating employment opportunities for Katsina youth.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State on May, 27, 2026 said the directive ensures that the delegation receives full cooperation in pursuing their initiatives within the state.

Governor Radda extended the hand of partnership and collaboration to the NDE, noting that the state government is ready to work closely with the agency to advance employment and skills development programs across Katsina.

The Governor emphasized that his administration views skills training as critical to youth empowerment and sustainable economic development. He assured the NDE of full state support in implementing their programs and initiatives.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr. Edmund C. Onwuliri, Acting Director-General of the NDE, outlined the agency’s plans to expand its presence and activities within the state.

Onwurili disclosed that the delegation had visited Daura to engage with the Emir and relevant stakeholders regarding land acquisition and processing of Certificate of Occupancy for an NDE facility.

Beyond land matters, the NDE team has toured the existing Skill Acquisition Centers across multiple locations. The centres visited include Ingawa, Kurfi, Malumfashi, Funtua, and other communities across the state.

The NDE Acting Director-General emphasized the agency’s interest in exploring meaningful partnerships with the Katsina State Government.

“These partnerships are designed to create more employment opportunities and expand access to skills training across the state,” added NDE boss.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor  Malam Faruk Lawal  and other top government officials and other members of NDE delegation.
