The Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum (Upstream) and Member representing Doguwa/Tudunwada Federal Constituency, Hon Alhassan Ado Doguwa, OON (Sardaunan Kasar Hausa Maituta) has been appointed as a Peace Ambassador by the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation (UN-PAF).
The appointment was conveyed through a letter addressed to him dated 29th March, 2026 through the Daura Emirate Council.
The appointment of Hon Alhassan who is the former Leader of House of Representatives was in recognition of his demonstrated commitment to peacebuilding, leadership capacity, humanitarian advancement and community development in not only his primary constituency but across Nigeria and the entire Africa.

“In this exalted capacity, Hon Doguwa is expected to join other UN-PAF Africa Ambassadors to help in the promotion of peace, diplomacy and conflict resolution initiatives across Nigeria and Africa; and serve as a representative of UN-PAF in strategic engagements , partnerships while supporting the Foundation’s interventions in emergency response and evacuation initiatives.
The Chairman of the UN-PAF, Professor Kinglsey Ossai, has in the appointment letter, expressed confidence that Hon Alhassan’s appointment will significantly strengthen the UN-PAF’s strategic footprint across Africa.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq has congratulated Hon Alhassan Doguwa on his appointment as the new Peace Ambassador and prayed that he will continue to excel in this new role.
