The election of Mohammed Safana, the Director General of the Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KATCHMA) as Chairman of the Forum of Chief Executive Officers of State Social Health Insurance Agencies (SSHIAS) has been hauled by Gov Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State.
Governor Radda described the election as a well-deserved recognition of Safana’s competence, dedication and outstanding contributions to healthcare financing in Nigeria.
“This victory belongs not only to Mohammed Safana but to Katsina State. It is a testament to the quality of leadership we have invested in our healthcare sector. We are proud of him,” said Governor Radda.
A statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina Stateon 11 April, 2026, said the Governor charged Safana to approach his new national responsibility with the same energy and commitment that distinguished him at home.
“The confidence that your peers across the country have reposed in you is not a decoration. It is a mandate. Lead the forum with vision, fairness and results,” the Governor advised.
Governor Radda also urged Safana to use the platform to push for stronger collaboration among state health insurance agencies, deepen access to quality healthcare for ordinary Nigerians and drive policy reforms that put the people first.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Katsina State, the Governor extend warm wishes to Safana and pray for his success in the new role.
