Woman shoplifts items worth N10m in Katsina

A 27-year-old woman, Hadiza Ibrahim has been arrested by police operatives  for allegedly shoplifting goods worth ₦10.1 million in Katsina.

This was disclosed by the spokesman for the state police command, Aliyu Abubakar in a statement on Friday in Katsina, saying the Chief Security Officer of Green House, reported the suspect’s arrest on March 4.

He described the suspect as a notorious shoplifter operating within the metropolis. Abubakar said the stolen goods were valued at ₦10,102,000.

“The suspect was captured on CCTV at Green House, where she was seen dishonestly stealing various items from a shop.

“Following analysis of the footage, she was closely monitored, leading to her arrest at the scene,” the spokesman stated.

He said a search at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of items valued at N10,102.000.

The recovered items include 274 pairs of shoes, 37 veils, 67 sportswear sets and 54 children’s outfits.

Others are 123 caps, 315 sets of socks, 45 women’s wrappers, nine handbags, three cartons of spaghetti, 24 perfumes and five cartons of soap.

The rest are a bag of assorted fashion jewellery and a sack containing various cooking seasonings and spices.

According to him, the items have been identified by owners, while more victims are being traced
