Over 109 terrorists were killed in Kwara after  destroying multiple terrorist camps in a coordinated airstrikes by the  Nigerian military.

The operations targeted identified terrorist and bandit hideouts in Edu, Ifelodun and Patigi LGAs, areas which security sources described as long-standing strongholds for criminal elements terrorising surrounding communities.

Locations hit during the strikes included Baba Sango in Ifelodun LGA, Gbugbu in Edu LGA and Lata in Patigi LGA.

The sites were reportedly used as bases for kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent activities.

Military sources confirmed that several terrorist camps and logistics hubs were destroyed, forcing surviving fighters to flee.

While over 100 terrorists were neutralised, others reportedly sustained injuries and escaped into nearby forests.

Confirming the development in Ilorin, a senior military officer involved in the operation said the strikes formed part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks threatening security in the state.

The officer noted that although the operation had significantly disrupted terrorist activities, intelligence leaks from informants within some communities continued to pose challenges to ongoing military efforts.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal groups until lasting peace is restored across affected parts of Kwara State.
